Artificial wetlands are water detention areas that are constructed to achieve one or more of the below objectives:
- Control of stormwater – reduction of peak flows and removal of nitrogen, suspended solids and heavy metals
- Surface water management
- Floodplain enhancement
- Habitat creation – for both native and migratory wildlife
Platypus is able to design and construct wetlands for all of the above purposes, specific to local conditions and taking into consideration the pre-existing habitat.
Our skilled excavator operators are experts in the digging, moving and positioning of materials to create highly-efficient wetland environments.
